Agile Approach

The term Agile is in common use in the software industry and has many interpretations. At OpusVL, we exploit Agile with our development experience and pragmatism and configure our approach according to initial circumstances and the desired outcome.

The development route is based on the degree of understanding of requirements. Where requirements are well understood, we adopt a Breadth + Depth approach (B+D). Here, we specify the required system in detail and undertake the development process.

If the requirements are not well understood then a Breadth Then Depth (B>D) route is taken. We spend sufficient time with the business stakeholder and key staff to find out what is required of the overall system, that is its overall breadth. We explore the depth of the system by using the software technology and illustrating what it can do for the business. We use an iterative process within a structure based on the breadth of the system and develop the depth of the system in the process.

Our approach is thorough and we often discover key aspects of what the system needs to do that often escape the traditional specification route. Because we have most of the system available from our repository, we can maximise our time to engage with business users rather than writing software.
